End-Of-Year Business Information With the end of the school year approaching quickly, all accounts must be paid in full. This includes library fines, payment for lost books, overdrawn lunch accounts and all past due accounts in the Business Office. Any accounts that are “past due” and not paid by May 31, 2019 will result in the holding of your child’s report card, your access to RenWeb/FACTS will be blocked, and your child’s seat /enrollment for the 2019/2020 school year may be jeopardized. 8th grade accounts in arrears may result in your child not being able to participate in the graduation ceremony. Families of children in 5th – “rising” 8th grade that are not returning MUST return their child’s chromebook to their teacher by the last day of school.

Bring In Your Plastic Shopping Bags To Help Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle Plastic The Nature Club will be doing a single-use plastic shopping bag collection until Tuesday, May 28. The class that collects the most plastic shopping bags from home wins a popsicle party and each student receives a recycled shopping bag, courtesy of the Nature Club. Thank you for your support of this important collection! Did you know Americans use 100 billion plastic bags a year, which require 12 million barrels of oil to manufacture? Did you also know that the average family takes home almost 1,500 plastic bags a year, but only recycles about 1 percent. That means the rest end up in landfills and our oceans. Sadly at least 267 different species have been affected by plastic pollution in the ocean. Please help us reduce, reuse, and recycle single use plastic shopping bags!

Check Your Cafeteria Account! The end of the school year is fast approaching. Please be mindful of the funds in your student's lunch account. We have many families with negative balances. Cafeteria accounts must be paid by June 3! Please make sure there are enough funds for the remainder of the school year to cover lunches and any a la carte items. If any student has funds remaining in their account, it will rollover to the next school year. If you have multiple students and one is graduating, their balance can be transferred to the remaining student. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Cafeteria Manager Mrs. Lucy Pon at lpon@sggsvb.org.

Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School is AdvancED accredited and the Diocese of Richmond is AdvancED accredited as a school system.

AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world. They are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. While their expertise is grounded in more than a hundred years of work in school accreditation, AdvancED is far from a typical accrediting agency. Their goal is not to certify that schools are good enough. Rather, their commitment is to help schools improve.
Combining the knowledge and expertise of a research institute, the skills of a management consulting firm and the passion of a grassroots movement for educational change, AdvancED serves as a trusted partner to 34,000 schools and school systems—employing more than four million educators and enrolling more than 20 million students—across the United States and 70 other nations.
