SISTERS OF IHM
The Congregation of the
Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
, is a Pontifical Religious Institute, whose members are committed to God and the Church by the profession of the public vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
The charism of the sisters is Love, which continues to manifest itself today in the sisters’ joyful service of God and his people; creative Hope, which puts all its confidence in God’s loving Providence; and Fidelity, which inspires fervor in their vocation in Christ and their mission in the Church.
The Immaculata branch of the Congregation comprises approximately 790 Sisters who currently staff Catholic schools and parishes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and Florida and the South American country of Peru. The sisters also serve the Church in pastoral and other evangelization ministries in other states as well.
The Benedictine Order
Our school provides preparation for the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist in the second grade in conjunction with the students being prepared for
the CCD program. Students prepare for Reconciliation in the first semester and participate in a retreat in November before reception of First Penance in December. The second semester is devoted to preparation for First Eucharist. A retreat is held for candidates at the end of April before reception of First Eucharist in May.
Confirmation preparation is given to those students in 10th grade or older who are registered in the Life Teen program.
Students in all grades attend monthly school Masses and several class Masses throughout the year. Students in grades 2 through 8 receive the sacrament of Penance three times a year.
